How Does Your Body Change Through Struggle
Human body is a complicated machine that can adapt with almost any circumstances. From childhood to adulthood, it evolves; and it evolves through struggle. But what are those struggles?
Any kind of situation that a human has not encountered is uncomfortable to do. We feel a lot of friction when we encounter a new situation. We feel like giving up. One of the reasons being our body has not evolved to do the task. It develops itself when we go through struggle. Let me clear this idea through a hypothesis to you.
All of our senses are controlled by the brain. Let’s imagine the brain trying to do a new task is analogous to you yourself moving through a dense forest. When you are trying to perform a new task, you are just basically moving through that unknown forest to reach your destination (Your goal in real life scenario). At that moment you have to chop down the trees and move forward. The more often you take that path, soon it becomes a road and gradually turns into a super highway to you. Then it is much easier for you to go through that path to reach your destination instead of other paths. Taking that path feels comfortable to you.
Did you notice what just happened? Your brain just created a comfortable way to do a task which was once uncomfortable for you to do. In a real life scenario, when you do physical struggle, whether it is weight lifting, running or whatever; at first your body struggles. The more you do so, the more it sends a signal to the brain and your brain develops that part of the body accordingly. Day by day your body changes, you become much stronger.
It is also true when you go through illness. Whether it is a viral infection or chronic disease, your immune system fights against it. When it fights, it struggles to defeat the germs. Through that process it develops its memory cell so that when the virus or germ tries to harm them again, they can take proper action immediately.
After mentioning all of this, one way to see struggle as an opportunity to learn and grow. Struggle teaches us what our body lags in a certain discipline. One way to learn from struggle is to focus on self care. It could be through exercise, meditation or any other forms of self care. Taking care of our body and mind can help us to cope with the challenges we face in our daily life. Another way to learn from struggle is to focus on resilience. Resilience is the ability to adapt and bounce back from adversity. By cultivating resilience, we can learn to view struggle as an opportunity to grow.
To conclude, struggles can have a profound impact on our body. By understanding how our body changes through struggle, we can learn to adapt and respond in ways that promote our overall health and wellbeing. Whether through self care, resilience or any other strategies, learning to navigate the challenges help us to grow. We should always remember that struggle is not something to be afraid of, but something to embrace. As we go through struggle, we learn how not to screw up next time when we do the task.
